The pianist Novin Afrouz completed her music studies at the Conservatory G. Verdi in Milan, Italy. She then graduated from the Conservatory of Music in Geneva, Switzerland, obtaining the "Virtuosity Prize". She also attended the Master Classes by Prof. Arturo Benedetti Michelangeli.
After her successful debut at Wigmore Hall in London, she has been giving concerts all over the world: in United States, Italy, China, Switzerland, Austria, Belgium, Hungary, Romania, South Korea, Japan, Russia, Spain, Germany, Poland, Iran, South Africa, England, Lithuania…
In 1978 Novin Afrouz was invited to China by Mrs Chu-en-Lai, where she performed Tchaikowsky's second piano Concerto with the Orchestras of Peking and Shanghai. This was the first ever performance of Tchaikowsky in China and first foreign artist performer in that country after the cultural revolution. She was again invited there to give concerts during the Asian Games and then later for the International Music Festival.
Novin held master classes at the International Music Festival in Lugano, Switzerland and is member of juries in international piano competitions (Lugano, Crans-Montana, Switzerland). Novin is contributing actively to humanitarian actions by giving concerts (UN, World Bank, Afghanistan, ….).
She received many international awards: Albert Einstein Peace Award for music in 1984, the Critic Prize and the Gold Lion in1986 in Rome, the Gold Saint Valentine in 1986 in Terni, the Art of Peace in 1986 in San Francisco, the City of Venice in 1987 in Venice, the Lorenzo de Medici music prize from the International Academy of Florence, where she was also given the title of Senator in 1989, and the Europe Prize in Montecatini in 1990. She received the Ambassador of Art Medal Award in 1997 from AEI in San Francisco. She was bestowed a Honorary Doctorate in Music as well as a Honorary Doctorate in Literature from the world University of Arizona, US.
Novin Afrouz has composed pieces for piano, quintet and a concerto for piano and orchestra. She is a distinguished poet as well. Her poems were published in England ("Hope of Peace"), in Japan ("Dew of grass"), in Belgium ("Reflexes"), in Italy ("Visions of Italy"), ("Hope of Peace"), ("Peace flowers").
Novin's concerts and interviews were broadcast by CNN and other TVs.
